西九州新幹線は、佐賀県武雄市の武雄温泉駅と長崎県長崎市の長崎駅を結ぶ、九州旅客鉄道（JR九州）の高速鉄道路線（新幹線）である。 福岡市（博多駅）と長崎市（長崎駅）を結ぶ整備新幹線計画（九州新幹線〈西九州ルート〉）のうち、武雄温泉駅 - 長崎駅間がフル規格新幹線として先行整備され、2022年（令和4年）9月23日に武雄温泉駅で在来線とフル規格新幹線の対面乗り換え方式により開業した。令和になって初めて開業した新幹線である。同計画の中では武雄温泉駅 - 長崎駅間の西九州新幹線は暫定開業という位置付けであるが、西九
